With ACDSee Ultimate 2021, it will display the following message, and when the OK button is clicked, it will attempt to open on the home folder specified in the settings. I don't know what ACDSee 17 actually does in that circumstance. This situation would seem to have probably been brought about by having the default start folder set to the last folder selected in the previous session, that folder being on an external drive, and it not being present when ACDSee was subsequently started up.
(Thread can be found here: ).Īny chance anyone remembers this bug and how to fix it? I don't feel like upgrading to a newer version, as I was very happy with this one.Even if someone remembers the "fix" the un-install and re-install may have prevented that approach from working, even assuming the issue and the "fix" are in this instance related. There is an old thread here that addresses the same problem, and mentions it's a known bug, but the link for the page explaining the way to fix the bug, is broken. I asked the tech support for assistance, but they replied that ACDsee 17 is a legacy product and thus no longer supported. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help. I get a message saying the latest folder I was browsing isn't available, but when I click OK nothing happens. I've installed my old version of ACDsee 17 on a new laptop, and it worked fine for a while, but now it refuses to open.
